About the star effect: asterism happens when a stone contains a dense network of tiny aligned needle-like inclusions, in this case rutile, that scatter light in a specific geometric pattern. It's the same optical phenomenon behind star sapphires, just less commonly seen in Rose Quartz because that density and alignment of inclusions doesn't occur in every piece. Finding it in a carved skull makes these genuinely uncommon.
