The geology: Flower Agate is a chalcedony found exclusively in Madagascar. The pink-to-peach coloring and characteristic flower-like patterns are mineral crystallizations that grew inside the agate in branching plume shapes as it formed, sometimes alongside small crystal-lined cavities like the druzy pocket on this piece. It's a relatively recent addition to the crystal world compared to more established stones. Mohs hardness 6.5 to 7.
