Moss Agate Tumbled Stone | Green Dendritic Quartz Crystal | Gardener Stone Heart Chakra
Moss Agate Tumbled Stone | Green Dendritic Quartz Crystal | Gardener Stone Heart Chakra
Moss Agate tumbles with those gorgeous green dendritic patterns that really do look like preserved moss inside translucent quartz. We love how each one is its own little landscape - some have wispy sea-green wisps, some have deep forest green branches, others have black manganese dendrites that look like tiny trees against pale backgrounds. No two pieces have the same pattern.
The geology: despite the name, Moss Agate isn't technically an agate (no banding) and the "moss" isn't actually plant material. It's a chalcedony quartz with mineral inclusions of hornblende, chlorite, or iron oxides that grew in dendritic (branching) patterns inside the stone as it formed. So those mossy landscapes? Pure mineral chemistry, frozen in stone hundreds of millions of years ago.
What you'll get:
- One intuitively chosen Moss Agate tumble
- Polished smooth, often with visible internal landscapes
- Approximately 1 to 1.5 inches
- Mohs hardness 7
In crystal traditions, Moss Agate is most often associated with the heart chakra and is famously called the "Gardener's Stone" - traditionally tied to growth, abundance, and connection with nature. It's used as a healing amulet by Neolithic peoples (one of the earliest stones in the human archaeological record) and is described in lore as a stone for new beginnings, calm, and grounding. Popular as a pocket carry, desk stone, or to keep near plants in some traditions.
Tip: hold these up to natural light to really see the dendritic patterns. The translucency is part of what makes Moss Agate so visually special - you can sometimes see the landscapes from the back too.
