The geology: Honey Calcite is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) colored by iron inclusions, ranging from pale gold to deep amber. Like other calcites, it's genuinely soft, Mohs hardness 3, so it needs gentler handling than quartz or agate spheres. The most significant deposits come from Mexico.
