The technical name is Ferruginous Quartz, and the golden color comes from goethite (an iron oxide hydroxide) staining the quartz, not hematite. Hematite staining actually produces the red-orange coloring seen in Fire Quartz, a related but visually distinct stone. We wanted to clear that up since the two get mixed together a lot in crystal shop listings.
