Peridot Bead Necklace | Green Olivine Crystal Adjustable Necklace | August Birthstone Heart Chakra
Peridot Bead Necklace | Green Olivine Crystal Adjustable Necklace | August Birthstone Heart Chakra
A Peridot bead necklace in that gorgeous bright lime-to-olive green color this stone is famous for. We love Peridot because the green is genuinely vibrant - not muddy or olive-drab, but a fresh spring-leaf color that catches light beautifully. The bead format lets that color shine across the whole necklace, and the adjustable length means it fits naturally over crew necks, V-necks, or layering with other chains.
About the design:
- Peridot beads in vibrant green
- Adjustable from 19 inches to 21 inches
- Slip-knot closure (slides to adjust length)
- Layers well with other necklaces
The geology: Peridot is the gem-quality variety of the mineral olivine (technically forsterite-fayalite series, a magnesium iron silicate). It's one of the few gemstones that exists in only one color - green. The shade varies from bright lime to deeper olive depending on iron content - more iron, deeper green. Peridot is famously found in some unusual geological contexts: it's been found in pallasite meteorites that fell to Earth from outer space, AND on Mars, AND in lava rocks. The Egyptians mined Peridot on the volcanic island of Zabargad in the Red Sea over 3,500 years ago - they called it the "gem of the sun." Mohs hardness 6.5 to 7.
In crystal traditions, Peridot is most often associated with the heart chakra and is described as a stone of abundance, prosperity, and personal growth. It is said to support manifestation, attracting opportunities, and clearing emotional blockages. Peridot is the August birthstone (making this a thoughtful birthday gift) and one of the traditional 16th wedding anniversary stones.
Fun fact: Cleopatra's famous emerald collection? Most historians now believe many of those "emeralds" were actually Peridot - the Egyptians valued it that highly. A beautiful daily-wear piece or thoughtful August-birthday gift.
