The geology: Fire Quartz (also called Hematoid Quartz, Ferruginous Quartz, or Red Healer) is regular quartz that grew with hematite (iron oxide) inclusions trapped inside. The red, orange, and brown coloring comes from the iron, and the patterns vary wildly - swirls, streaks, dustings, solid color zones. Sourced primarily from Madagascar, Brazil, and South Africa.
