About Jade - and this is important: "Jade" is actually a name shared by two distinct minerals - Nephrite and Jadeite. Most affordable green Jade on the market (including most "Dark Jade" bracelets) is Nephrite, which is calcium magnesium silicate. Jadeite is rarer and significantly more expensive (think collector-grade gem-quality Burmese pieces). Both are real Jade - one is just rarer than the other. Mohs hardness 6 to 6.5 for Nephrite.
