Hand-carved Blue Calcite bowls from Argentina, in a dreamy turquoise-to-teal color with warm caramel-brown veining through the rim and sides. Sold in the trade as "Lemurian Aquatine Calcite" or "Blue Onyx" - one of the most photogenic stones we carry.
Two bowls available, each with its own veining, so we're listing them individually - pick the one that speaks to you:
- Bowl A: lighter blue, rust-brown veining circle in the center of the bowl, 2.91" x 1.09" h
- Bowl B: deeper blue, caramel veining spread evenly through the bowl, 2.95" w x 1.35" h
Note your preferred bowl (A or B) at checkout.
Honesty note: this material is very often sold as "Blue Onyx," but true Onyx is banded chalcedony (silicon dioxide). These bowls are genuinely Calcite - calcium carbonate (CaCO3) - and "Lemurian Aquatine Calcite" is a trade name, not a separate mineral species. Quarried in the high mountains of Argentina, which gives it that blue-teal-caramel palette not seen in Calcite elsewhere. Soft stone (Mohs 3), needs more care than quartz or agate.
What you'll get:
- One hand-carved Blue Calcite bowl, your selected piece (A or B)
- Natural color and veining, genuinely one-of-a-kind
- Mohs hardness 3 (soft, handle gently)
Care notes: avoid water cleansing (slightly soluble); keep out of direct sun; dry contents only (rings, crystals, tumbles); store away from harder stones to prevent scratching.
In crystal traditions, Calcite is described as an amplifying, cleansing stone, and this blue-toned Argentinian variety is most often tied to the throat and third eye chakras - calm communication, emotional release, intuitive clarity. A genuinely beautiful catchall dish for rings, or a striking piece of natural stone to display on its own.
