Kunzite Freeform Crystal | Pink Spodumene Heart Chakra Stone | Pegmatite Display Crystal
Kunzite freeforms in that gorgeous soft pink-to-lilac color this stone is famous for. We love how Kunzite catches light - the color is delicate and almost translucent, with subtle internal striations that you only really see when you turn the piece in good lighting. Some pieces lean cooler lavender, others have a warmer rosy pink, and the best ones have a noticeable color shift.
The geology: Kunzite is a pink-to-purple variety of the mineral spodumene, colored by trace manganese. It forms exclusively in lithium-rich granite pegmatites - the same kinds of geological environments that produce Lepidolite, Pink Tourmaline, and other pegmatite minerals. Discovered relatively recently (1902 by gemologist George Frederick Kunz, hence the name), it's still considered a relatively rare collector's stone. Most market supply comes from Brazil, Pakistan, and Madagascar.
What you'll get:
- One intuitively chosen Kunzite freeform
- Polished with the natural shape preserved
- Mohs hardness 6.5 to 7
- Each piece is unique in coloring and form
Heads up about Kunzite: it's slightly photosensitive - prolonged direct sunlight can fade the color over time. Best displayed in indirect light or rotated occasionally. This isn't a flaw, it's a known property of the stone.
In crystal traditions, Kunzite is most often associated with the heart chakra and is said to support unconditional love, emotional healing, and self-compassion. It's frequently called a high-vibration stone in crystal communities and is sometimes paired with Rose Quartz for layered heart-chakra work. Some traditions also tie it to the crown chakra for spiritual love and divine connection.
A genuinely lovely piece for crystal collectors who appreciate softer, more refined stones over the showier display crystals.
